Quixtar Is Part of Alticor, Sister Company of Amway

Quixtar Inc. is one of North America’s leading direct selling companies with affiliated Independent Business Owners (IBOs) in the United States, Canada, and parts of the Caribbean. Quixtar is part of Alticor, which is also the parent company of Amway Corporation, a leading worldwide direct selling company.

Quixtar launched in 1999 during the Internet boom to immediate acclaim. It was so successful, Amway continued with its new business model

exclusively in North America. With its success worldwide, Amway retained the traditional model in the rest of the world and set up different companies to run operations: Quixtar Inc. in North America and Amway Corporation elsewhere. It also created Access Business Group to run manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, and other everyday operations to support worldwide sales and Alticor to act as a parent company to run the sister companies. This all from a single successful company that began as Amway in 1959.

Today, IBOs in North America operate independent businesses through Quixtar.com and IBOs in more than 80 other countries and territories across the globe operate independent Amway businesses.

IBOs powered by Quixtar are represented by IBOAI, the Independent Business Owners Association International, a non-profit trade association. IBOs have been represented over the years by The American Way Association, the Amway Distributors Association, and the IBOAI, all which have sought to represent the voice of the IBO. IBOs automatically become members in the IBOAI upon registering or renewing with Quixtar, and qualified members elect the Board of Directors, who serve on various IBOAI committees and meet with Quixtar executives and staff to discuss matters of importance to all IBOs.
